my avocado tree was one of the reasons i really liked this house (also it was the lowest priced, lacked horrific remodeling, definitely the only one i could afford...but i like the avocado reason best). it rains leaves on our little patio year round, makes it impossible to grow much below it, has a huge branch that hangs at eye level over the direct route to our front door and drops avocado bombs on the roof during any kind of wind or rain storm. why do we keep it? because you won't believe how many friends you can make by giving away free avocados the size of small footballs. plus, being a vegetarian, these babies are my version of steak.
