thrift books

i know there are many bloggers out there who are avid thrift shoppers. i come from a family of thrift shop addicts, my paternal grandparents were garage sale junkies and filled their house with amazing finds. both my parents have done the same. growing up we pulled anything and everything from our neighbors trash, fixing up furniture and finding many treasures (i actually found a box of coins from someones collection while scavenging through a neighbors trash with my father, a real honest treasure!) i went through that normal teenage phase where i was embarrassed to be seen doing this, where now i will stop traffic to check something out!

for years i collected childrens books, finding so many i couldnt carry them all through the thrift store. i sure don't find them like that now, most people see the value in books, but every once in awhile i will stumble onto something. i found this childrens party book a few months back and when i had a quiet moment i checked it out better.wow! what a find! there are enough ideas to plan a dozen parties. i am so glad i didnt stash it away somewhere! the artwork is so bright and clear too.Party_book_7

  1. oooooh, great find! I'm an avid thrifter as well, and books like these are a treat to find. my husband collects recipe and childrens' books from the 50s-60s and he would absolutely love this!
