inspired by this blog i have been revisting my passion for travel, an obsession to say the least...i was inspired to move some travel memoirs to the front of the reading list. i also remembered this wonderful movie, which is set in france and is a documentary about a french teacher who is about to retire. he teaches all grade levels in a small schoolhouse out in the french countryside with gorgeous scenery all around. the schoolhouse is spotless, the children are working on different lessons, all together and although not perfect, their teacher is able to keep everyone focused. as a former teacher, just barely with a toe into teaching before switching careers, i found his style so refreshing and utterly charming. the whole movie left me breathless. so here it is, i hope it can inspire someone else too.
