hodge podge blog

so what the heck is going on around here? well, it's been a decade living in this house now and many projects that have been put off are finally getting the attention they deserve. when we first moved in, the entire inside had been painted white which i actually like now. but it has been 10 years and four kids later... (kids are still here but that can't be helped) and to say the paint needs refreshing is an understatement. sooo.... we are beginning in the boys room:

when i first painted this room i was a hardcore martha stewart junkie, i just chose two colors from her new paint line at the time... i couldn't decide on blue or green so used both. remember, the boys were like 4 and 6 years old at the time.... they are 14 and 16 now, time for an update!

we will have to incorporate this cool lamp into the new decor.

since food has been such and issue this summer, we are trying to get dinners more organized. chris taught andrew how to grill and he has been treating everyone to dinner almost every night.

when we cleaned out the boys room to paint, this long lost tent was found. of course it is set up in the living room now, along with boxed up computers. if it isn't one thing it's another, right?

i stumbled onto this yesterday and was so happy to see the "blubird" love being spread, this was the first book i bought on ebay and i use a picture from it for my icon on flickr.

ok, we are off to the cabin for the day... stay tuned for seed bomb updates!

  2. I blogged about being a blue bird way back when, and at age 53 have decided to make a point of living by the Blue Bird Wish.
Spread the word-have fun, make beautiful things etc etc...
