i have been wanting to do a painting "class" type camp fire meeting for a long time, wasnt sure how to fit it in with all the other stuff i want to do (so much to do!). for our service project (our charity is the los cerritos wetland trust) we are painting wildlife paintings which can be auctioned off at future fundraising events. painting can be hard to teach, is definitely hard to learn... but the girls did great! we talked about line, texture and touched a little on colors (color wheel). we barely scratched the surface so stay tuned for more painting lessons.
Mary came to talk with the girls about the birds who live in the wetlands and about the habitat. the moms then hung out with her chatting while the girls went off to paint. the girls will make final touch ups, sign them and they will be ready for framing.
here is the start of our gvl disaster relief donation. let me know if you have stuff you want to drop off (my local buddies), we will be taking it up on thanksgiving. also, there is a raffle during the gvl thanksgiving potluck/treelighting if anyone wants to donate an item for that. thanks!!!
