we head up this weekend to check out our cabin, the weather should be great. there is an all day event going on in town to thank the firefighters and talk with fellow neighbors. we are loading up our truck with things to donate and i will get a wish list from the family we are helping, hope i get a chance to meet them too! thanks to all my friends who have contacted me regarding donations of items, we are going to take a big load up at thanksgiving so start digging through your stuff, we can get together sometime soon. i will have a better feel for what is needed after tomorrow.
can't wait to get up there!
i am spending most of today cutting out christmas gifts, a marathon of cutting and pinning... i plan on making this another all handmade (or mostly ALL handmade) christmas. my parents have had the tradition for years that gifts are either found (seriously, roadside found... could be bits of nature though like a pinecone, not just someone's shoe, ha ha), made (baked, sewn, crafted, woodworked,built,written,painted etc.) or thrifted (including garage sale stuff)... i guess recycled works too (like something you cherish, you pass it on to someone else). so we are continuing that tradition with our little family, makes sense to me!
last, here is something i want to volunteer for, i need more stuff to do ya know! check it out and spread the word!
