i have been super busy at work, there is always a rush of work at the holidays, thats what happens when you are a temp worker. i just didnt think i would get so behind in all the christmas decorating. we have a tinsel tree this year that is just sitting waiting for "something" to happen, lights? ornaments? not sure. chris and the kids spent an entire day last weekend setting up the outside lights and as a special treat, did the avocado tree.

there seems to be a lot of the handmade spirit out there this year, i have seen lots of shoppers at the thrift stores, not so many at the department stores. with this mixed up economy, hoping people are happy with less (i am talking to myself as well). still have lots to do, off to work for another day of thrilling internal investigation. ick!

things i am enjoying

just a random blah blah blah post...
IMG_2503

my goofy attempts to do some natural "art" after watching this movie (i ran out of rocks if you can believe it!) we have been loving these film noirs as well: dangerous crossing was excellent and i LOVED daisy kenyon (the writing was insane, so awesome... at least to me anyway!) we are currently watching this.

still havent seen the end of this movie and watching this show (reminds me of the original greenpeace, save the whales! remember??), hard to stomach the whales getting killed though, real hard!

getting ready for christmas

well my big plans for homemade craft ideas this camp fire meeting was a bit off, not enough time and my choices were not so "christmasy." still i think the girls were getting the idea. i chose a toy (the yarn octopus i used to make as a kid) and some glass magnets.

we collected lots of sticks, acorns and pinecones to work on some fairy houses down at the beach. i cant wait to see the snow cover these houses up and then reveal them in the spring.
