missing lizzie

as much as this kid drives me NUTS!!!!!! i miss her, she is up at out cabin with chris fixing a window and stocking up the kitchen before i drive up tomorrow with my bluebird group, our first official cabin getaway weekend. i thought a quiet night with emily would be nice (it has been) but she and i agree, we both miss lizzie! (and daddy too!)

lovely mail today!

i sent my two nephews some owls recently and my brother-in-law (who is like my twin, i swear it's more than wierd!!) sent me this box of cool fabric scraps he collected to make quilts...yes quilts! how rad is that! (gosh i hope he doesn't mind me posting that, oops if he does care!) i tell you, this guy is into everything i like and never ceases to amaze me! i thought i was the wackiest person ever, but he is definitely tied (maybe even creeping ahead??)

saved from the garbage dump

my dad brings me blankets that are too thrashed to sell, i use them for my dogs (which destroy everything, only the worst is given to them). i opened a bag left at my doorstep (labeled for the dogs) and found this cool old quilt...i told him only ripped and stained blankets please...this is ripped up a bit but the fabric is awesome! i love the mix of purple and red/white/blue fabric. it also has a funky off center top that looks really homemade. it is currently being washed and we will see! too good for my dogs, thats for sure!

early morning reading

i love to read, but with emily it seems we don't get the quality time we need to get through her reading list, days go by without a good bedtime story. today we read in the early morning hours when everyone else slept, watching the sunrise.
