i have been looking forward to a three day weekend at the cabin, some things turned out well and others not so well. the weather was amazing, hot with thunder storms, really energized. we spent sunday morning going to the gvl rummage sale and then spent time at the beach, only to be run off when there was a horrendous downpour. the clouds were showing off with billows of white set against brilliant blue, almost blinding at times. we finally settled into tv watching (the original "gidget" a la sandra dee) and book reading... of course lots of video game playing (someday a post on that irritating topic...) and just let the time slowly tick by.

elizabeth and i dug up acorn seedlings (black oak trees) that will never survive infront of our garage, in hopes to grow some trees to plant at camp shiwaka for FREE! love how these are popping out of the acorns!
