crazy sexy cancer

loving this movie, it supports my love for raw food eating (not that i am that GREAT at it, but i totally BELIEVE in it) and all its benefits. what i really love about the whole "raw food lifestyle" is that it is based on cancer treatment research. originally founded as a diet to treat cancer, raw food eating has come full circle with the link between over processed food and poor health something most people agree with today. food can be medicine and surely many of our health problems stem from poor diets. something like that anyway!

gvl in fall

the santa ana winds are kicking up again, fire season is upon us. seems like so long ago we almost lost the cabin to the slide fire, i am trying not to be paranoid but with this hot, dry wind i am getting nervous.

we took a walk around the lake getting snacks and taking some time to play and draw (elizabeth is drawing like crazy right now, just begs to draw pictures day and night) and saw lots of green valley lake politics on our way back home. i love to see all the political activity, hoping there are record amounts of people voting this year. all is well at camp gvl!

i can dream

ok, after the last post.... gotta cheer us all up! vacation planning always makes my day, how about this place?

i get emails from this website (we used them years ago for a trip to italy which was awesome!) its fun to look through the new listings and dream.

here is lizzies little "vacation" her first real trip to disneyland. grandma wanted to go and emily already had a pass so liz and i got ours (thanks grandma!) the best way to "do" disneyland is to go on absolutely the worst weather days and just hang out for a couple hours. you get free parking, no crowds and you can really enjoy the place. our favorite rides are the pirates, haunted house and jungle ride. unfortunately the pirates ride has johnny depp in it now (no offense to johnny) but i like the retro/old school aspect of disneyland which is slowly being lost to a more "hollywood/movie" theme. they put tarzan in the swiss family robinson treehouse (terrible!) and nemo is in the submarine (maybe that wont be bad, the lines have been too long to check it out) so call me old fashioned, but i dread what small world will look like after it gets "renovated" for the umpteenth time (rumor is it will have movie characters in it, ick!)

i cant believe how much easier it is to run my group this year, what a difference! i was able to talk about indian culture, symbolism and totem poles spending almost 30 minutes on some very interesting stuff with kids who paid REAL attention to me, WOW! these girls are growing up. we have our service ceremony coming up in november, called "kiniya" and i am excited to work on our duck patrol, heifer international and maybe the art2heart project... how much can we do? the sky's the limit!

the stamp came out great, i am hooked on this craft.

today my mom and i took lizzie to disneyland, something i have been putting off forever, just so expensive. emily recently got a pass so we felt the need to get ours too. well today was not crowded BUT it was like 100 degrees! we roasted and barely made it 3 hours before heading home. i will put pictures up later... trying to get caught up on so many projects. i have a new camp fire group starting, just began a photoshop class (love it!) am working a difficult account and preparing for a new credential (lots of studying) and what else? just too much to mention. happily the girls have pulled out hand me down costumes for halloween, one less thing to work on (not that i mind costumes, so fun to make)

so even in 100 degree weather, we are trying to get into the halloween spirit!
