for anyone who read my long ultrasound post from last night, sorry. i deleted it because, although i had the best intentions to be somewhat funny, i realized it came off pretty awful. i dont want to sound like i am bitter and burnt out on my career, which is how that post appeared soooooo.....i will leave my sarcasm about ultrasound on the back burner for now.

here is a craft project from 2 years ago, a fun family project for anyone with a fireplace and no mantel. it hangs by two hooks from either side and during the year i hang kids backpacks from the hooks (comes in handy!)

well i debated on what to do for my three year old's birthday party this year. i forgot her first year party, yes i admit i forgot it completely until the last minute! i got so caught up in christmas. i swore the next year i would do something awesome and we had a nice big party for her. this year though, i have had a tough few months dealing with her independence and moodiness. she is perfectly normal, perfectly fine...but sometimes it is hard to really communicate. i know she is only three and i want to savor every perfect little moment with her, but she is REALLY into being three! i have never been around a terrible two, i have moody threes...both kids (even the stepkid i have known since two was more emotional at three). so to make a long story short, we decided rather than have the potential for tantrums set infront of all her friends, we would do a more elaborate outing with just family. we picked "goofy's kitchen" at disneyland. something so commercial and cheesy just had to be perfect! surprisingly, it was. we arrived, we were ushered in, we sat, we ate and watched all of disney's glorious characters make their way around us. it was three year old heaven and i must say that we ALL had a great meal and enjoyed ourselves! Elizabeth was wide-eyed and happy the entire time and she ate and ate and ate some more. happy birthday liz!
we had our camp fire holiday party and yes i DID forget my camera again. my husband even reminded me, but with all the stuff i had to cart there i forgot it again! it was a smashing success, my campfire moms are AMAZING! there is just enough moms to help and everyone works so well together. i was stuck with my snowglobe project, i realized the glue gun was an adult only operation so i had to glue and glue and glue them to get everything to stick. luckily only one fell off the lid and one wouldn't screw on right, i was hoping for 100 percent perfect, but it never goes that way!
we rolled out cookies, cut them, cooked them, decorated them, had a gift exchange and made our snowglobes. all without a hitch and in about an hour and a half.
a basket of bluebirds made for each of my girls and a pretty cruddy picture of emily's snowglobe, it turned out great, really!
