well we are saying goodbye to our colorado family and leaving this snow storm behind.
elizabeth got a new jacket, thank goodness for outlet malls. i doubt you can even buy coats and boots in california, i am sure the spring clothes are on display now.

time to start those new years resolutions, same as last year... and the year before.
after seeing this episode of dwell, i have fantasized about converting a barn into some rustic/country/modern blend of new and old. this barn is not in the most ideal location, but it sure is what i would call a "real" barn. i just love to gaze at it each day on our way to the highway.
here is another cool pad with wide open green all around and a rustic/modern vibe. i think i have posted about it before, i just love it so.
whenever we visit colorado, i get itchy for my own rustic place (the cabin in gvl was my attempt to get back to nature and i love to get away when we can) but part of me wants a day to day life out in the wilderness, far from city lights and traffic. to really live with the seasons on a day to day basis, nature all around instead of planes overhead and neighbors a foot away (even though i LOVE my neighbors!!!) it's nice to have something to dream about and don't worry mom! we aren't making any plans to move (just yet, ha ha!)
one of my favorite places, boulder colorado. tree hugging yuppies (i mean that in a nice way) with a gorgeous mountain view from every angle, lots of wide open green space, bike racks along every street, big trees, artsy people, big local college, eco friendliness abounds....but a high cost of living to boot. oh well.
we found this tea room to be the perfect place for tea and lunch with snow blossom tea to take home in a bag (i thought the name fit).

lots of good food when hanging with the cousins (birthday dinner at the "rio" in fort collins).
we took a tour of a dairy farm, watched the milking then enjoyed a cone of fresh ice-cream. can't beat an ice cream cone on a snowy day, yum!

it is so nice having emily around to help out, she is so fun and an inspiration to me as well. she is making some holiday presents yet to be mailed out... better late than never right?

we wore pajamas all day thank you, tomorrow i hope to be over this flu bug! ugh!
